Twitch GDC Experience

At the Game Developers Conference, Twitch needed a way to engage product and marketing leads with a clearer message: Twitch isn’t just a place to promote your game—it’s a platform to help build it. We helped Twitch bring that message to life with an interactive booth experience that walked developers through a game’s full lifecycle, showing exactly how Twitch could support development, launch, and beyond.

The Challenge

Twitch is big. But what does that mean for developers?

Developers knew Twitch was powerful but didn’t know how to make it work for them. Confusion around where to start and what tools to use often led to inaction. Twitch needed a clear, contextual, and inspiring way to show developers how to integrate Twitch technology—and why it mattered.

"At GDC, Twitch needed to move from curiosity to clarity. The experience we built gave developers a clear, self-guided path through the full game lifecycle, showing exactly how and where to integrate Twitch. It sparked real conversations, unlocked new opportunities, and positioned Twitch as an essential part of game development strategy."

Our Approach

A lifecycle-driven journey, mapped to Twitch tools

Working closely with the Twitch team, we designed a visual narrative that followed the game development journey from idea to live ops—aligning each stage with relevant Twitch tools and success stories. The booth experience had to be intuitive enough for self-guided interaction, yet rich enough to support deeper staff-led conversations. Our focus was clarity, cohesion, and momentum: helping visitors quickly grasp the possibilities and see themselves taking action.

The Solution

A connected experience across digital and physical touchpoints

We designed a flexible system that delivered a consistent story whether visitors explored on their own or with a team member. The experience was anchored in the game development lifecycle and highlighted Twitch’s most powerful tools for success at every stage.

Touchscreen kiosks, built for exploration

Visitors navigated custom touchscreen kiosks that walked them through three key phases: Development, Launch, and Live Services. Each station offered tailored recommendations, real-world case studies, and diagrams to show where and how Twitch tech fits in.

A narrative that builds confidence

The design framed Twitch not just as a media platform, but as a true development partner—giving developers tools, proof points, and entry points that matched their games and goals.

Systematic, but story-first

We designed for modularity across the booth, playbook website, and team-led demos. A shared visual language kept the message coherent across surfaces while allowing each lifecycle phase to stand on its own.

The Results

Immediate engagement, long-term clarity

The experience led to increased developer interaction and Playbook logins at GDC, greater adoption of Twitch tools across the game development lifecycle, and more qualified leads with meaningful follow-up conversations. It also brought clearer internal alignment around how to position Twitch as a true partner to developers.

From analysis paralysis to confident action

The experience replaced uncertainty with understanding. By meeting developers where they are—in mindset and in lifecycle—we helped Twitch show up not just as a channel, but as an essential partner in making games successful from day one.
